Tough Night For Card Volleyers

The Boone Central volleyball team struggled through its toughest night of the 2008 season to date at St. Paul Tuesday, Sept. 23.
The Cardinals dropped both matches in the triangular meet and fell to 8-4 on the season.
Boone Central lost in straight sets to the host Wildcats, who are ranked 3rd in Class C1 (25-14, 25-14).
The Cards finished 27-of-28 serving and 25-of-25 in sets while hitting 71 percent (27-of-38), but were on their heels the entire match.
Stephanie Paulson led BC with three kills and one block. Brittany Luettel, Julia Temme and Megan Bygland each had a pair of kills in the match. Erica Carder topped assists with four.
Boone Central was more competitive against Adams Central, but lost an 11-25, 25-23, 22-25 decision to the Patriots.
BC was successful on 43-of-49 serves (88%) and 57-of-59 set attempts (97%) and hit a strong 81 percent (78-of-96).
Temme topped kills with four and Bygland chipped in three. Carder had two assists and Temme added a pair of solo blocks.
