Spirit Week underway, Color Day Saturday at Boone Central

Boone Central Public School is celebrating Spirit Week, Oct. 6-10, with special events leading up to the annual Color Day ceremonies next Saturday, Oct. 11.

Color Day honors all school clubs and organizations.

Spirit Week began with a hallway decorating contest on Monday, and students wore their class colors — black for seniors, orange for juniors, blue for sophomores and green for freshmen.

Other special days scheduled throughout the week were “Gender Bender Day” on Tuesday, “Totally 80s Day” on Wednesday, “Duo Day” on Thursday and “School Spirit Day” on Friday. High school classes will compete on the basis of participation and a “best dressed” student will be named.

A pep rally will be held at 3:05 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, in the main gym.

On Saturday, the entire senior class will be presented at 7:30 p.m. in the school gym, with the coronation of royalty to follow. Masters of ceremonies for the evening will be juniors Shelby Travis and Kevin Carder.

The Color Day Dance for Boone Central students and their dates will follow the coronation and continue until midnight.
