Boone Central sophomore Brooke Bolin placed third in the 2008 Mid-State Conference girls golf championships held Tuesday, Sept. 30, at Eldorado Hills Golf Course in Norfolk.
Bolin rebounded from a 47 on the front nine to fire 41 on the final nine holes and finish behind only Norfolk Catholic’s Isabella Baldacci (82) and Brittney Dinkel of Pierce (88) with an 88.
Norfolk Catholic dominated the competition, posting a 384 team score to defeat runner-up Pierce (446) by 62 strokes. The Knights had the 1st, 4th, 5th, 7th and 9th place individual medalists in the tournament.
Boone Central finished fifth in the six-team field with a 514 total. Joining Bolin in varsity scoring were Kayla Kettelson (73-60/133), Sara Barnes (71-66/137), Anna Cleveland (67-77/144) and Breann Thorberg (89-94/182).
In the JV portion of the conference meet, Boone Central’s Kia Kai placed 4th with a 134 score (63-71).
