Dick Johnson of Albion was named a “Living Veteran” by American Legion Post 226 and VFW Post 162 during the Veterans Day program Tuesday morning, Nov. 11, at Boone Central Public School.
A ceremony honoring Johnson was held at the downtown mini-park following the Veterans Day program. An American Flag, flown over the U.S. Capitol, and an honor plaque, were presented in his honor.
A Korean War veteran, Johnson served as Boone County Sheriff from 1973 to 1993.
