Larry Lambert, Boone Central superintendent of schools, told the School Board Monday night that he will be leaving the position on June 30, 2009.
Lambert said he plans to pursue other career interests, possibly including private business. He said he and his wife, Brenda, would like to move closer to family members in southern Nebraska.
“Boone Central is an excellent school system in a great community,” he said. “I have enjoyed the opportunity here.”
Larry Temme, board chairman, thanked Lambert for his service and told him he would be missed.
The board began making plans Monday night to conduct a search for a new superintendent.
