The Nebraska School Activities Association (NSAA) has announced the Nebraska High School students who earned 2008 Academic All-State Awards. This NSAA program recognizes students who meet the criteria for nomination by their school in the season their activity takes place.
Six Boone Central student-athletes and 25 additional students from schools in the Albion News coverage area were honored.
To be nominated, the following leadership and scholarship guidelines are applied:
1) A nominated student must be a varsity player or organizational leader who has played a significant role on the team or in the organizational activity that season;
2) A nominated student must have a minimum cumulative grade point average, in all curricular subjects, of 3.7 on a 4.0 scale or the equivalent (93%, A-, etc.).
A school may nominate two students for each NSAA-sponsored activity.
Following are the Boone Central students who received 2008 NSAA Fall Academic All-State Awards:
Kevin Carder (Cr. Country), Dusty Dozler (Football), Halie Smith (Cr. Country), Brooke Bolin (G. Golf), Sara Barnes (G. Golf), Marissa Koch (Softball).
