John Deere dealership to have new owner

Central Nebraska Implement, AlbionGreen Line Equipment Inc. last week announced its purchase of Central Nebraska Implement Inc., the John Deere equipment dealer in Albion and Spalding. The sale will be effective Jan. 28, 2009

Green Line was established in 1967 and currently operates stores in Grand Island, Central City, Aurora, Norfolk, Plainview and Neligh.

The company will be expanded to eight stores when this sale is finalized.

In a letter to customers and vendors, Dale Wieseman, corporate controller for Green Line, announced that the current owners and employees of Central Nebraska Implement will remain at the Albion and Spalding locations.

The Bauer family has been associated with the John Deere dealership at Spalding since 1945, when Victor Bauer began working at Spalding Implement. The family has been involved in ownership of the business since 1963.

When the Spalding company purchased the Albion dealership from Whited & Sons in January, 1996, the name was changed to Central Nebraska Implement.

Dennis Bauer, current manager, has been active in the business for 30 years, and has managed the Spalding and Albion locations since 1996. He will be staying with the company under new ownership for one year to help with the transition.
