Kate Sullivan begins legislative term

Kate SullivanKate Sullivan of Cedar Rapids took the oath of office as the new state senator in Legislative District 41 on Wednesday, January 7, and began her four-year term of office.  Sullivan was elected in November to succeed Vickie McDonald of St. Paul who retired due to term limits.

“There’s one promise I know I can deliver on. I will work hard to be a strong senator and spokesperson for District 41 and rural Nebraska,” she said. “I will do my very best to represent the interests of the district and to make good, common sense decisions to help Nebraska become a better, stronger state.”

Mrs. Sullivan is the first state senator from Boone County since 1947, when the late Glenn Cramer of Albion stepped down after nine years of service.
