Virginia L. Austin

Virginia L. Austin, 91, of Albion, died Monday, Jan. 19, at the Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, IA. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009 at Zion Lutheran Church, Albion. Rev. Larry Sydow and Rev. Michael Kern officiated. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Albion.

Joan Oliverius

A memorial service for Joan Oliverius, 56, of Omaha, was held Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009, at St. Luke United Methodist Church, Omaha.
She died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009, after a year-long battle with cancer.
She was born in Lincoln, on March 27, 1952, the daughter of Stan and Evelyn Oliverius. She grew up in Albion, where she had many life-long friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to BRCA Awareness Education.

Henry G. Afrank

Henry George Afrank, 93, of rural Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009 at the Cloverlodge  Care Center. Funeral services were held  Tuesday, Jan. 20, at Levander Funeral Home in Albion with Pastor Vern Olson officiating. Burial was held in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Albion.

Francis Glaser

Francis Glaser, 81 of Spalding, died on Friday, Jan. 23, 2009 at Boone County Health Center. Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Michael’s Church in Spalding at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 26. Fr. Joe Hannappel and Fr. Jim Murphy officiated. Burial was held at St. Michael’s Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post #299. In lieu of flowers, send memorials to St. Michael’s Church in Spalding or choice of charity.

Patricia (Mullin) McNamara

Patricia (Mullin) McNamara died recently in Bakersfield, CA.
Pat, daughter of  Tom and Ruth (Needham) Mullin, was born May 20, 1927 in Albion. She graduated in 1945 from Albion High School. She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church and had many friends in Albion.
