Boone County Commissioners updated their county road records with a resolution Monday, culminating several months of research by Darrel Thorin, county highway superintendent.
Thorin’s research revealed that many of the county’s roadways had not been recorded as open roads in the record book.
A four-page attachment to the resolution specified 56 roads that will now be added to the record books.
In other business, Thorin reported he had been notified that Transportation Enhancement funds could become available within several weeks for repair of the Cedar Rapids bridge. He has also been notified that three proposed road projects in Boone County will not likely qualify for federal stimulus funds.
