Petersburg Civil Defense Coordinator Vet Stuhr will be testing the Petersburg warning system on Friday morning April 24 at 10 a.m., weather permitting.
The siren will sound uninterrupted for three full minutes.
If a tornado was actually approaching, this continuous sounding of the siren would indicate immediate danger and the need to take shelter. There will be no all clear sounded.
Residents also should note that shelter, in the case of a tornado, will be available in the Petersburg State Bank basement during regular banking hours, in both schools during the school day, and the church basement will be open all day and night.
