Boone Central Golfers Struggle At Fullerton

After a trend of improving performances, the Boone Central boys golf team took a step backward at the Fullerton Invitational Tuesday, May 12.
Cardinal Coach Jesse Brodersen gave a succinct assessment of his team’s day.
“The boys just didn’t play real well – not a good warm up for district,” he commented.
Boone Central placed seventh in the 12-team field at Fullerton with a team score of 361. The host Warriors won the tournament with a 328 total, followed by St. Paul and Central City, both at 338.
Cardinal senior Bryce Morgan finished sixth individually, carding an 80 over the Pawnee Hills Golf Club layout. Individual champion was Fullerton’s Brian Pomplun with a 74.
Rounding out scoring for Boone Central was Dusty Dozler (89), Collin Chaney (96) and Tanner Warner (96).
Boone Central competed in the C-3 District tournament Tuesday at Plainview Country Club. A total of  14 teams comprised the district field.
