A big weekend of events is scheduled Saturday and Sunday, June 13-14, in Petersburg.
Alumni banquets for both Petersburg High School and St. John’s High School will be held Saturday evening, June 13.
Petersburg Volunteer Fire Department will also hold its annual Firemen’s Dance that evening, and a Cruise Night is scheduled from 7 to 9 p.m. in conjunction with the barbecue and dance at the Fire Station.
On Sunday, June 14, a Founders Day Picnic will begin at 12 noon in the Petersburg Park. Free hot dogs will be served, and ball games will start at 1:30 p.m. There will also be sand volleyball, sack races, three-legged races and horsehoe games. This is the first event leading up to the Petersburg Q125 celebration in 2012.
