Information meetings are planned July 2 at Petersburg and Ericson on proposed new electric transmission facilities to serve the TransCanada Keystone XL crude oil pipeline through Nebraska.
A breakfast meeting will be held at the Petersburg Legion Club at 7 a.m. on July 2, and a luncheon meeting is planned at Starving Stallion in Ericson at 12 noon.
The meetings will be hosted jointly by Nebraska Public Power District, Loup Valleys Rural Public Power District, Cornhusker Public Power District and Loup Power District.
The meetings provide an opportunity for property owners and electric customers to provide feedback on a proposed transmission line project that is needed to support construction of the new pipeline.
The proposed transmission line and related infrastructure will connect a substation at Petersburg with a new substation to be located east of Ericson.
