Sewer, water contracts awarded for new subdivision

At the July meeting of the Petersburg Village Board, it was brought to the board’s attention that the survey completed on the Koch Subdivision had not been a complete survey of all the 9.14 acres of land. The development group will not be purchasing any more than the 5.24 acres for housing, but the entire parcel must be surveyed. Zoning Director Barb Hanson explained the Planning Commission had given their approval, but a full survey is requested. The water and sewer projects may move forward. John Zwingman will redraw the platting and complete the area survey. With a motion by Trustee Alan Temme and second by Trustee Allen Thorberg, Scott’s Backhoe and Well Repair was awarded the contract at a cost of $27,744.87 for water. Also, a motion was made by Trustee Steve Faust and second by Trustee Pat Seier that the $24,967.69 contract for the sewer was also awarded to Preister. It was noted that he will also do a compaction test.

Chairman Thieman stated, “I would like to see an alley for access to utilities.”

Zwingman stated, “No one does alleys any more. You just have an easement on every lot. If repairs are needed, you have the easement to go in and fix it.”
