Workers pour concrete on Marengo Street in Albion Tuesday morning. It’s a busy time for street paving work in Albion.

As of Monday, Castle Construction Co. was working at four separate locations on replacement of concrete streets.

The largest section in progress early this week was Marengo Street, where two blocks of concrete paving are being replaced. The last block from Third to Fourth Street was being poured on Tuesday, July 21.

Marengo Street is expected to be open for traffic by midweek next week.

The company is also replacing intersections at Walnut and First and Walnut and A Streets, and expected to finish pouring them by midweek.

At a fourth location, the crew is excavating concrete and digging out a manhole at Main and Second Street. They will be replacing concrete in that intersection, as well as a partial block of Main Street and Depot Street from Main to Sale Barn Road. This will be the final project completed.
