Brief periods of rainfall slowed some construction plans in Albion early this week, but street and sewer projects are moving ahead.
In the above photo, Depot Street was busy with excavation work last Friday, July 24. After removal of the old concrete, storm sewer pipes were installed under the street. Concrete paving was expected to begin later this week, weather permitting, on Depot and Main Streets, the final project to be built by Castle Construction this summer in Albion.
A planned excavation for a sanitary sewer on South Sixth Street, including the Sixth and Fairview intersection, was delayed by the rain Tuesday, July 28. When the excavation begins, Sixth Street traffic will be detoured west of the Boone County Health Center.
