Hospital services continue despite detours

Sewer main work on Sixth Street.Although there are some detours due to construction at Boone County Health Center, medical services are continuing with no delays at Boone County Health Center.

Ambulances from area towns can access the hospital, and emergency helicopters can land and take off at the new temporary heli-pad.

The new sewer main project along Sixth Street was delayed by rain, but it is expected to be connected to the city system this week. Concrete can then be replaced in the Sixth and Fairview area. The goal is to open the intersection next week.

Best Access Route

Through the current week, patients and visitors are advised to access the hospital from the north, east and west by using Seventh Street. From State Street (Highway 91), turn one block west of the four-way stop, and continue south on Seventh Street to the hospital and medical clinic entrances.

The new parking lot entrances are open and parking lanes are painted.

In photo above, workers were pumping mud and water Tuesday morning from the sewer main ditch on Sixth Street. They were preparing to backfill the trench after connecting the new line to the city system earlier this week.
