James H. Kleffner Sr., 90, of Spalding, died at Friendship Villa in Spalding on Sunday, Aug. 16, 2009. Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 19 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael’s Church in Spalding. Father Don Buhrman and Father Jim Murphy officiated. Burial was in St. Michael’s Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post #299.

Bernard L. Elming, 78, of Atlantic, IA, died Saturday, Aug. 15, 2009, at the Heritage House in Atlantic. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2009, at the First United Methodist Church in Atlantic. Reverend Lanette Plambeck officiated.
