Last Friday, Aug. 28, the Boone County Fitness Center celebrated their 25th Anniversary with an open house during the day and presentation that evening.
Open house events included health screenings given by the Boone County Health Center. Glucose, cholesterol and blood pressures were taken. Blood pressure cuffs and many other items, including a one-year membership, were given away as door prizes.
Tours of the facility were also given throughout the day. Any non-member who took a tour was given a free day pass. Cookies, coffee and tea were served.
At 7 p.m. that evening, about 30 people filled the gymnasium to listen to the anniversary presentation and to show their support. A special presentation was made to Elaine Wolf (above) in recognition for the dedication and leadership given by Mrs. Wolf and her late husband, Jim, in founding the center.
