Although Third Planet Windpower’s proposed Boone County wind farm was not selected by Nebraska Public Power District for further negotiations several weeks ago, the company is still negotiating with Omaha Public Power District for a possible smaller wind farm east of Petersburg.
An OPPD spokesman said last week the power district is “still in negotiation with organizations on our short list” for wind power development. One of those organizations is Third Planet.
Steve Boyer, a Third Planet representative, said the company is working with OPPD toward a possible 40 megawatt wind farm.
