Bygland, Beckwith team for blockAfter losing their first two volleyball matches of 2009, the Boone Central Lady Cardinals were looking for some good news Saturday as they hosted their annual invitational tournament.
After a slow start, the Cards found that positive spark, winning two matches and placing second in the competitive meet.
“I was really happy how the weekend went,” commented Boone Central Coach Erin Eickhoff. “The girls worked really hard. It was great to see that moment when everything just clicked.”
“We have ups and downs – and we’ll have some more – but I’m confident the girls will be able to get through anything as long as they stick together. They have a trust and bond that will be hard for any team to break.
“If they stay on this road, the wins will come,” Eickhoff added. “It won’t be an easy season, but I am confident we’ll be a successful team. This weekend showed the girls are fighters and can dig in and work hard.”
