Central Community College, Columbus campus, recently celebrated its 40th anniversary and during a special program on Tuesday, Sept. 22, James B. Temme of Omaha was given the 2009 Outstanding Alumni Award.
James (Jim) is currently the Associate Professor and Associate Director of the division of radiation science technology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. In addition to his current job, he serves as President of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists. He was instrumental in formulating a program where CCC-Columbus students can complete their Bachelor’s Degree in radiologic technology while working at the Columbus Community Hospital.
After completing a tour of duty in the military, Jim earned his Associate Degree in science in 1971, Bachelor’s Degree from UNMC in 1974 and Masters Degree in public administration in 1984. He and his wife, Kathy, have four adult children. Attending the ceremony were his mother, Joyce Temme and his brother, Jeff Temme, both of Petersburg.
