The Boone Central volleyball team improved its 2009 record to 5-8 with an exciting 3-2 victory at Ord (10-6) Tuesday, Sept. 29, before traveling to Battle Creek Thursday to face a tall, talented Bravettes squad that has been ranked in the Class C1 Top 10 for much of the season.
The Cardinals played on even terms with Battle Creek (14-2) throughout the match, but could not overcome the hosts’ hitting power at the net in a 20-25, 19-25, 18-25 defeat.
Boone Central was in action Tuesday night in a triangular at Wayne. The Cards will host Hartington C.C. Thursday, Oct. 15, then play their final home-court matches in a triangular (Twin River, Fullerton) Tuesday, Oct. 20, as they continue to prepare for the Mid-State Conference Tournament Oct. 26-27.
