Janice E. Gleason, 77, of Central City, died Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2009 at Golden Living Center in Fullerton. Funeral services were held Saturday at 10:30 a.m.at Palmer Funeral Home in Fullerton. Rev. Paul Blanchard and Rev. Valjean Warman officiated. Burial was in the Fullerton Cemetery.

Eugene S. Socha, 81, died Oct. 1, 2009. He was born Nov. 20, 1927. Vigil service was held Sunday, Oct. 5 at 6 p.m. at the West Center Chapel. Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 6 at 10 a.m., West Center Chapel at St. Thomas More Catholic Church with mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment was held in the Hillcrest Memorial Park with military honors by Benson VFW Post #2503. Memorials to St. Thomas More Endowment Fund or American Cancer Society.

Thomas Michael Towey, 88, of Cedar Rapids, died on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009 at the Cloverlodge Care Center in St. Edward. Funeral services were held on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids. Fr. Ralph Steffensmeier officiated.
