A very successful Boone County Toys for Tots campaign was wrapped up last week with “shopping days” held at the Boone County Fitness Center. The dance room of the fitness center was filled wall-to-wall with toys for families in need. Setting up the display last Friday, Dec. 11, were (l. to r.) Mike McDermott, assistant manager at the center; Deputy Sheriff Mike Mapel, who chairs the annual program for the Sheriff’s Department, and Anji Knuth, manager of the center.
