Nathan Olson, a two-way lineman for the Boone Central Cardinals, received All-State Football awards this past week from the Lincoln Journal-Star and Huskerland Prep.
Olson, a 6-foot-4, 220-pound senior, was named to the Journal-Star Class C1 All-State team as an offensive lineman. Huskerland Prep honored the Cardinal as a defensive lineman. Olson was Honorable Mention in the Omaha World-Herald all-state selections.
Olson was one of Boone Central’s leaders in a number of defensive categories this past season and was voted team co-captain and defensive lineman MVP. He led the Cardinals in solo tackles (44) and was second in assisted tackles (52) and total tackles (96). Olson was the team leader in sacks (5.0), tackles-for-loss (16.5) and forced fumbles (2). He also recovered two fumbles.
As an offensive lineman, Olson led a Cardinal front that paved the way for 147 rushing yards per game and 237 total yards per contest.
Along with Olson, Boone Central seniors Dustin Christo and Kevin Liss received Honorable Mention in the World-Herald. Both were also Honorable Mention in the Journal-Star.
