Boone County Commissioners set the salaries of elected county officials for the upcoming four-year period, 2011 to 2014, during their meeting Monday, Dec. 28.
According to state law, the base salaries must be set every four years by Jan. 15 of the election year.
After discussion and a review of salaries recommended by the Nebraska Association of County Officials, the board adopted the following salaries:
- County Assessor, Clerk and Treasurer — $42,000 annually starting in 2011, an increase of $2,056 or 5.1 percent for each position over the 2010 base salary of $39,944.
- Clerk of District Court — $40,000 annually starting in 2011, an increase of $56 or .01 percent over the 2010 base salary of $39,944.
- County Attorney — $45,000 annually starting in 2011, an increase of $5,056 or 12.8 percent over the 2010 salary of $39,944.
- County Sheriff — $48,300 annually starting in 2011, an increase of $2,663 or 5.8 percent over the 2010 salary of $45,637.
- County Commissioners — $20,500 annually starting in 2011, an increase of $455 or 2.2 percent over the 2010 salary of $20,045.
