Power Districts announce rate increase plans

Loup Public Power District and Cornhusker Public Power District announced plans for rate increases in January 2010.

Loup Power will increase retail rates by 5.9 percent effective for bills issued after Jan. 15, 2010.

Cornhusker Power  said its rate increase will average 4.95 percent, and will become effective with January’s billing.

Both power districts pointed out that their rates remain among the lowest in the nation.
