Area digs out after latest ‘big blow’

Heavy winds accompanied by varying amounts of snow swept through Northeast and North Central Nebraska Wednesday morning through Thursday night, Jan. 6-7, leaving behind blocked roads and causing many cancellations in Boone County. The Boone County area received an estimated four to six inches of snow pushed by winds of more than 40 mph. Several area highways were blocked most of the day on Thursday.
