Applications are now being taken for a new Purchase/Rehab/Resell Housing Program in Boone County.
In this program, qualifying home buyers can receive up to $20,000 in assistance for down payment and closing costs on a renovated home.
The program was created through a $320,900 grant from the Nebraska Affordable Housing Program. It is a collaborative effort between the Boone County communities of Albion, Cedar Rapids, Petersburg, Primrose and St. Edward; the Boone County Development Agency, Northeast Nebraska Economic Development District (NENEDD) and NeighborWorks Northeast Nebraska (NWNEN).
The goal is to rehabilitate at least five Boone County homes in the next two years.
