Boone County ranks 20th in property tax increase percentage

Property tax increasesA new property tax study from the Nebraska Department of Revenue ranks Boone County 20th among the state’s 93 counties in the percentage change in property tax dollars levied in 2009 compared to 2008.

The county had an 11.45 percent increase in total property taxes levied from 2008 to 2009, ranking just behind neighboring Nance County, which had an 11.66 percent increase in total property taxes.

Ranking just behind Boone County was neighboring Greeley County with an 11.18 percent increase in total property taxes.
