Although not finalized as yet, a preferred route has been proposed by Nebraska Public Power District for its electric transmission line that will extend from Petersburg to Ericson.
Since last fall, the utility has narrowed its project corridor and selected both preferred and alternative routes for the new 115kV transmission line.
The next step in this process is a third round of open house meetings for landowners and the public scheduled next week in Ericson and Petersburg.
The open houses are planned Tuesday, April 13, at the Starving Stallion in Ericson, and Thursday, April 15, at the American Legion Club in Petersburg.
Both open house events will be held from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.
