Boone County’s May 11 primary election ballots will include only two contested races at the county level.
In the Republican contest for Clerk of the District Court, Mandy Wiseman is challenging incumbent Ellen L. Hirsch.
The Democratic ballot also includes a contested race for District 3 County Commissioner between challenger Ken Luettel and incumbent Hank Thieman.
The only other contested local level race will be for Cedar Rapids School Board, where seven candidates are competing for three available board seats. The field of seven will be reduced to six in the primary election. Candidates are Lisa Kennedy, Mark A. Zentner, Brian Swerczek, Matt Paulsen, Bill Robinson, Debbie Braun and Tom McPhillips.
