With several young golfers joining a revamped varsity line-up, Boone Central placed 10th in a tough Lakeview Invitational field at the Elks Country Club in Columbus.
A pair of sophomores led the Cardinals over the challenging 18-hole Elks course. Kade Leetch, back after missing a week of action, fired a 46/45-91, matched by classmate Mark Tisthammer’s 44/47-91. Senior Kevin Liss was just one stroke back at 45/47-92.

The Boone Central junior varsity, off a solid outing in the Mid-State Conference meet, placed a competitive fifth as the only JV entry in the nine-team Humphrey St. Francis Invitational Thursday.
“It was a good day overall. All the golfers lowered their scores on the second nine and made good strides in improving their games,” commented Boone Central Co-Coach Darrell Barnes.
Freshman Hunter Henry scored a medal in the competition, placing 15th with a two-round total of 47/45-92 on the nine-hole Humphrey Steepleview Golf Course layout.
Compiling the remainder of Boone Central’s 390 team score were sophomore Sean Soll (48-46/94), junior Jacob Olson (50-47/97) and senior Miles Wynn (54-53/107). Freshman Jesse Zwiener recorded a 118 (62-56).
