John Temme of Petersburg and his son Jonathan Temme of Lincoln both competed in the 2010 World Automobile Auctioneer Championship held in Akron, OH on May 21. They both advanced to the finals. John was named the Reserve World Champion and Jonathan finished in 10th place. Charles Adcock from Pennsylvania was named the 2010 World Champion.
Auctioneering is nothing new for the Temme family. Brothers John, Joe, and Jeff have been doing it for years as well as John’s sons, Justin and Jonathan. Traveling and auto auctions have become a way of life for John, Jonathan, and Justin. On Tuesdays, they auction at the Nebraska Auto Auction in Lincoln, NE. On Wednesdays, they auction at the Adesa Sioux Falls Auction in Sioux Falls, SD. On Thursdays, they work at the Kansas City Independent Auto Auction located in Kansas City, MO.
On Fridays, Justin and Jonathan travel to Columbia, MO to the Missouri Auto Auction while John heads back to Boone County where the auction business has been a family affair for the past 35 years.
