Final days of fair are action-packed

Junior Rodeo action at the fair.Plenty of action-packed events, along with good attendance, marked the final two days of the Boone County Fair on Tuesday and Wednesday, July 13-14.

One of the favorites was the Junior Rodeo (above) on Wednesday afternoon. Young riders again provided thrills and spills while learning how the big cowboys and cowgirls feel. The competition included sheep and calf/bull riding and barrel racing, along with a hobby horse barrel race for the younger tykes.

The biggest grandstand crowd, estimated at 2,500, attended the Combine Demolition Derby and Two-Car Chain Races on Tuesday night.

Wednesday night’s School Bus Races and Tuff Truck and Car Races attracted the second largest attendance, estimated at 2,000.
