Construction crews at the Laredo Ridge Wind Farm have started pouring foundations for the wind towers. In the above photo, a pumper trucks are used to transfer the concrete to the foundation forms.
As of Monday, Aug. 2, three foundations were complete, and two had the base portion of the foundations in place. This week, Edison Mission Energy said there are about 40 construction personnel working on site, along with about 10 management personnel. A total of 23 foundations have been excavated, and eight more foundations are ready for placement of concrete. About 15 percent of the access roads have been finished.
The wind farm, located northeast of Petersburg, will include 54 towers when completed.
