Nebraska has excellent crop prospects

Nebraska has potential for an excellent corn and soybean crop in 2010, according to the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service, Nebraska Field Office.

Based on Aug. 1 conditions, Nebraska’s corn crop is forecast at 1.54 billion bushels, down two percent from last year’s record but still the second largest on record.

Nebraska soybean production is forecast at 284 bushels, nine percent above last year and the highest of record.
