Laurie Majerus earns ‘Teacher of the Year’ award

Laurie MajerusSt. Michael’s School recently announced that Mrs. Laurie Majerus will be honored as a recipient of one of the Teachers of the Year awards at the 33rd annual Archbishop’s Dinner for Education to be held Sept. 16 in LaVista.

Mrs. Majerus was raised in Albion and graduated from Albion High School in 1978. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in elementary education and early childhood endorsement in 1982 from Kearney State College.

After graduation, Mrs. Majerus substituted in the Albion area until January of 1984, when she was hired as the third and fourth grade teacher at St. Michael’s School.

During her 25 years at St. Michael’s, Mrs. Majerus has taught all grades from preschool through fourth grade. Most recently, she has been teaching the first grade class.
