Wayne, Pierce Dump Card Volleyers In Triangular

bc-volley.jpgThe Boone Central volleyball team has found out in 2010 that learning lessons at the varsity level is difficult.
The Cardinals, beginning the season with very little varsity experience and relying heavily on sophomores and freshmen, continued those learn hard lessons this past week, dropping to 1-15 with losses to Wayne and Pierce in a triangular in Albion.
Pierce blitzed the Cardinals 25-8, 25-10 in the opening match and BC dropped a more competitive match to Pierce 19-25, 15-25 in the night’s finale.
“We opened the night against Wayne and the girls really struggled in pulling the team together,” said Boone Central Coach Erin Eickhoff. “They just were not clicking together and could not execute the skills needed to be successful.
“Preparing to face Pierce, we put them in new and different positions on the court. The girls rose to the challenge of a new line-up and played very well as a team. We came up short, but we pulled together and played well.”
