Lady Cards Drop Two In Mid-State Volleyball

The Boone Central Cardinals competed in the always-tough Mid-State Conference volleyball tournament Monday at Pierce High School, dropping matches in the opening round and consolations.
Boone Central, seeded 7th in the tournament field, dropped a 12-25, 21-25, 13-25 decision to #2 seed Hartington Cedar Catholic in a first-round contest.
Jenna Lehmann led the Cardinals at the net with seven kills on 8-of-12 hitting. Jade Gottier slammed three kills on 8-of-10 hitting and Marissa Beierman added two kills.

Boone Central also lost in straight sets in the first round of consolation play to host Pierce (14-25, 11-25, 17-25).
Lehmann again led the Cardinal attack with six kills on 8-of-12 hits. Gottier was 13-of-16 hitting and had four kills and Beierman also made four kills with 6-of-7 hitting.

Boone Central, 2-19, will compete in the C1-8 Sub-District at Norfolk Senior High Nov. 1-2. Other teams in the field are Battle Creek, Madison, Norfolk Catholic and Pierce.
