Updated aerial photographs of all Boone County rural property will be taken soon for use by the County Assessor’s office.
County Commissioners approved the request by Assessor Joyce Sock to have new aerial photos taken by Morning Star Photography of Watertown, SD. Sock explained that updated aerial photos are taken every 10 years.
Pictures will be taken of some 1,640 parcels at an estimated cost of about $15,000.
If good weather holds, the company may be able to take the required pictures in the next two weeks.
