Construction activity is winding down at Laredo Ridge Wind Farm in northern Boone County.
All 54 turbines have been delivered and erected, and inspections for mechanical completion certificates (MCCs) have been completed on 53 turbines. The pre-commissioning process is now underway for the wind farm, according to Edison Mission Energy.
Construction contractors are now reclaiming roads that were modified for construction.
The wind farm substation has been completed, and the operations and maintenance building is now 95 percent complete.
Final inspection of the pad mounted transformers is underway, and the main transformer at the substation is energized.
All 54 wind turbines are scheduled to be running by Jan. 1, 2011.
