School Board gets update on wind education center

Boone Central School Board received an update Monday night on efforts to secure a wind education center for Boone County.

The committee has been organized since last summer and has met with officials from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Central Community College and Northeast Community College, as well as Nebraska Public Power, Cornhusker Public Power and Loup Power District.

Superintendent Cory Worrell, Ross Knott of Petersburg and Lincoln attorney Andy Pollock presented information. Knott and Pollock are members of a Nebraska wind investors group that is dedicated to bringing the wind education center to reality.
