Winter storm hits area hard

The mail must go through.A major winter storm moved through the Boone County area Sunday and Monday, causing schools to cancel classes and creating difficult travel conditions.

As much as 10 to 12 inches of snow had accumulated in the Albion area by Monday morning, Jan. 10.

A winter weather advisory was in effect Sunday and Monday, continuing until 6 a.m. Tuesday. Winds of 15 to 20 miles per hour from the northwest caused drifting snow overnight Monday and into Tuesday.
