Aliza Brugger is state runner-up in Voice of Democracy contest

Aliza BruggerAliza Brugger, a senior at Boone Central High School, was Nebraska’s second place statewide winner in the annual VFW Voice of Democracy Contest.

She received a $2,000 college scholarship for her runner-up finish. Contest results were announced Friday, Jan. 28, during the VFW’s Mid-Winter Conference in Lincoln.

Aliza, daughter of Norm and Keri Brugger of Albion was the first place winner in VFW District 15. She was one of eight finalists selected to present their Voice of Democracy entries last Friday on the theme: “Does My Generation Have a Role in America’s Future?”
