NPP, LLC and The Maschhoffs LLC, based in Carlyle, IL, announced last week they have reached an agreement for The Maschhoffs to purchase substantially all of NPP’s swine production assets. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
NPP is listed as the 14th largest pork production company in the U.S. In Boone County, it operates 13 swine production facilities, with a capacity of about 10,000 sows and about 100,000 nursery and finishing spaces. There are 65 NPP employees in Boone County.
The transaction involves approximately 50,000 sows, associated inventory and related market hog production, along with production facilities in Nebraska, Iowa and South Dakota.
