It was cold out there!

Polar Bear DipWith the thermometer hovering near the 20 degree mark last Saturday afternoon, some 58 people took the leap into the Cedar River as part of the annual Polar Bear Dip at Cedar Rapids.

These two participants had submerged in a deep hole across the river from Mel’s Landing, and were running back to the landing.

In addition to the “dip,” the annual event included a chili cookoff and chili supper, a “Minute to Win It” game and a dance. All events raised funds for the Cedar Cares for Kids fund. Photo courtesy of Cyndi Greger.
