Junior high sports co-op to proceed

Boone Central and Newman Grove Public Schools will proceed with negotiating a junior high sports co-op for next year.

Superintendent Cory Worrell informed the school board Monday night that he had received a letter from Newman Grove Public Schools inviting Boone Central to begin negotiations on forming the co-op.

The intent, as stated in earlier meetings between the two boards, is to form a co-op for all junior high sports to be implemented in the 2011-12 school year. This would be followed by a two-year co-op commitment for high school sports beginning with the 2012-13 school year.

Details of the co-op are to be worked out by administrators of the two schools and presented to the school boards at a later date.
